Ministry of Labor Turns Blind Eye, Who's Complicit in Forced Labor, Central or Local Authorities?

Serve the People Association has recently received a case of exploitation involving African workers, specifically two Kenyan performers who have been identified as victims of human trafficking. During the handling of this case, significant issues have come to light, including:
- Loopholes in the Employment Services Act and the Labor Standards Act allowing performers to enter Taiwan without the protection of minimum wage guarantees.
- These loopholes becoming tools for human trafficking, resulting in extreme exploitation. The individuals were coerced into undertaking unauthorized work, subjected to abysmal working conditions, extremely low wages, some even going unpaid for three months, and forced into debt, indicating clear instances of forced labor.
We will address and elucidate on these issues at a press conference, exposing the systemic loopholes created by the Ministry of Labor's negligence. We cordially invite you to cover the press conference, details of which are as follows:
