Forum on the Gender-Based Violence and Reproductive Rights of the Women Migrant Workers in Taiwan

2023/12/02News

For a long time, the women migrant workers have been suffered from the gender-based violence, and the reproductive rights have not been properly protected. Women migrant workers cannot receive equal treatment, and legal protection cannot be implemented. This is a matter that must be taken seriously.

Therefore, Serve the People Association (SPA) launched a one-year comprehensive plan on gender mainstreaming and reproductive rights for women migrant workers in Taiwan with the assistance of the German Institute in Taiwan. This project includes:

📍 Conduct

a survey on the situation of gender-based violence and violation of reproductive rights of women migrant workers in Taiwan.

📍 Conduct

training workshops for women migrant workers in Taiwan for the existing grievance mechanisms on gender-based violence and reproductive rights.

📍 Publicize

the research results and engage in social dialogue.

In this forum, we invite migrant workers, practitioners, academics and government officials to discuss and share together. We hope that through these discussions and reflections, we can enhance the equal rights of women migrant workers in Taiwan.
