Provide Shelter and Care for Injured Migrant Workers
Serve the People Association provides shelter for migrant workers suffering from violence, sexual abuse and severe health issues. We currently shelter 60 migrant workers and are facing a shortage of funds due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
$1,000NTD (35 USD) will provide a week of medical supplies and shelter for a migrant worker in need, keeping us operational throughout the pandemic.
Helping Migrant Workers Helps Taiwan
In 2014, we established three shelters for migrant workers. We provide our residents with legal advice, emergency settlement, medical support, and assistance in obtaining salary and benefits that have been wrongly denied. We try to eliminate discrimination and fight for social justice. There are over 700,000 Southeast Asian migrant workers in Taiwan, employed in manufacturing, construction, fishing, domestic work, and health care. They are vital to Taiwan’s social and economic fabric.
